Hotel Villas Playa Samara Reviews

Pristine vacations!
Resort bungalows Playa Samara has everything you want for a holiday. Its situated in a security and beautiful shore. The suites are really pleasant, the meals are tasty. And one of my favourite things is the swimming pool with the bar, pristine to stay throughout the day with your friends. A great site to stay with your family or friends. Everyone is really courteous and supportive.

Pleasant Costa rican resort
This was a pleasant resort. The air conditioning worked excellent. It was the only place we found a king size Bed in our 3 vacations to cr - a gigantic plus. The landscaping was really pleasant and well taken care of. The main swimming pool was gigantic and pleasant, though a tiny warm. The shore in front of the resort was really pleasant. The only con was the setting - it is pretty far from community.

Awesome!
The hospitality was awesome! Pierre went to us at first and took us directly to our bungalow, he was really supportive and gave excellent suggestions on the cuisine and things to do. The suite was elegantly furnished and completely equipped. The ocean front setting is excellent, there are Wild horses which is very tough to see. The bar pool is excellent. The meals are excellent! The restaurant service is excellent, the folks are accommodating. I didn't have any insect issues, everything was spotless, green and well taken care of, and there is a ton of interaction with nature. What I loved finest was the setting and excellent service, view and the pedal boat vacation to the Island, what I loved least was the parking allthough it wasn't terrible. I completely suggest this place for holiday, I personally took the honey Moon package and completely suggest it! It is really unwinding and everybody is willing to assist you in anything you need.

Family holiday
We had an excellent holiday here. I have two guys 8 and 13, and my hubby. We were a tiny bit concerned after reading the past testimonials. They were marvelous. Our accomodations were pleasant. We had excellent service. The children liked the cuisine. My hubby and I did want to try eating in the town, but the children didn't wish to. We wound up eating every meal there except for ice cream in the town. The bungalows could not be any more convenient for go to the shore. The shore was wonderful. We spent majority of the time there. We went throughout the first week of July. The shore was empty, we had it overall to ourselves. We also went to the Cove next door, which also was marvelous. The children also liked the swimming pool. My older son and hubby did the zipline, which they loved. We also took the nature hike. This was awesome (even though the children got hot and exhausted) we really liked it. Our tour guide was really informed. For the children, the greatest thing was we saw howler monkeys with their babies. If you are interested in correct Luxury, this isn't. However excellent for a family.

Setting, setting, setting
Stayed here with a company of friends, the main swimming pool was awesome and the ocean front bungalow was an awesome value. Found a surf spot and Turtle nesting ground 20 min away. The community is close enough to walk to and take a bite. The restaurant was iffy. I had an excellent steak, and okay lasagna.

First time in Costa Rica
I came to Costa Rica with a monkey trip groupon, and bungalow Playa Samara was our last destination, stayed there for 4 nights. My girl and I didn't get the suite with two queen beds as we asked for, and it was discouraging at first. But the resort workers were so supportive and trying to do their finest, so that initial irritation faded away. From the second night we got a sea view bungalow! What could be better? Supervisor, mr. Oscar montero, is the most caring, courteous and diligent you can ever meet! He wants to ensure everybody is happy! Yes, you gotta recall it is Costa Rica and certain things are different comparing to usa. There is no television in bungalow however you can view it if want to by the bar. Martin, a barman, makes the greatest pina coladas I ever had! Excellent scenery, excellent folks, sea, warm water. If you are interested in an a ton of party scene, music, bars, it isn't theplace to be. However if you would like to explore, unwind, enjoy- definitely it's the right place! Luis took as for the sea kayaks and scuba diving- excellent experience again. For cuisine- we had an included brunch with an excellent coffee. Everything is spotless. If you prefer to have pleasant supper, resort restaurant May not be the right place for supper. If you prefer home made cuisine, excellent seafood and really cheap, try pop colacho. Really small family owned place. Their ocean chowder has the whole crab in it! Really small place. If you would like more top notch place- try Casa Esmeralda! And of course if you are craving a burger, lots spots for that. One more time, I give this place 5 star due to service, help, kindness, setting, scenes and more. A lot of thanks to all the staff of bungalow Playa Samara for an awesome experience. Special thanks to to oscar, gabriel, Luis, Martin, john! Ps. I didn't have the spa therapy but one couple from our company did, and they liked it!

Finest time ever!
This being the last stop on our monkey trip, our stay was for 4 nights. We had upgraded to a sea view bungalow and weren't let down! The bungalow was cleverly situated right by the swimming pool and bar and was spotless, roomy, and had a pleasant scenery of the sea. Amazing sunsets! The personnel was very pleasant and supportive from the second upon check in to check out. The meals were beyond our expectations, whether it was a cafeteria or from the menu. We didn't buy the all-inclusive. (I did have a problem when ordering one specific meal, but, it was misunderstanding on my and the waiter's part. ). We did pedal boat to the Island, snorkeled, and walked the shore to community (use sunscreen! ). As pointed out in other testimonials, it was 30-40 min walk; and the taxi lift back was $6. The Wild horses were really clean to see walking the shore! All-in-all we completely loved our time and would return again!

Attempt to get unit 11 a
We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our monkey trip vacation. If you would like to take a monkey trip, check on groupon, we got it there as a 2 for 1, amazing deal! We did an upgrade to unit 11 a, the greatest beach bungalow, amazing scenes right on oceanfront! The owner of this hotel just spent a ton of money upgrading the hotel. Cuisine was amazing & excellent presentation. Cook frank really knows how to prepare pristine cuisine. Prices were great also. Brunch cafeteria was excellent, a lot of options & personalized egg omelets. Server manuel given excellent service & restaurant supervisor adiel was courteous & welcomed us by name. Security supervisor hector who walks the landscaping was really informative & brought us coconuts he cut open so we could drink fresh coconut milk. Only down sides were the " souvenir store mini market" next to restaurant was closed for sluggish season Now & lobby could not give me change for a $50. However, you can purchase bottles of water from restaurant at least.

Excellent holiday place
Stayed at resort bungalows for my one year commemoration. It was an awesome time. The resort service is courteous and immediate-all the workers are pleasant and always really supportive with any demands we had. The suite was one of the redecorated versions and it was pleasant. New washroom and pleasant king size Bed. The air conditioning was excellent and worked remarkably. The resort is situated a short walk from the shore and that was charming. The oceanfront is peaceful and remote which is the way I like it. As a whole, my hubby and I liked it there. Would return promptly.

Awesome
I stayed here with my family last easter and it was basically wonderful. Our bungalow was situated close to the shore and it was actually wonderful. The meals were tasty, and we got excellent service, particularly from Luis at the bar and while in the restaurant. The workers were really nice and excellent to speak to. Truly liked the swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and the shorelines. As a whole a wonderful place and I'd love to return. Would caution anybody interested in going not to make a choice based on the hotel after the earthquake, but to let them make their repairs and get it back working to its regular state, since it is an amazing place with excellent folks and excellent atmosphere.

Excellent ending to an excellent holiday!
We stayed here at the end of our adventure trip of Costa Rica with monkey trips (which was awesome) - the resort is charming and the personnel was excellent! We travelled as a family (2 adults, 2 children). The activity personnel was excellent with the children - not aggressive or in your face at all however awesome when you do wish to do something. My advice is the surfing classes - my children liked it! I also suggest the pedal boat vacation out to the Island in front of the resort. If you are going to stay here I wouldn't do the all-inclusive choice - we didn't have any problems with the cuisine but, there are a lot of amazing restaurants in the town that I recommend eating supper out nighly, you won't be disappointed. It is a short taxi lift to community and the resort will give you a mobile phone to Call for a come back taxi, the meals are excellent at all of the restaurants we tried and the prices are really justifiable. It is an excellent ay to enjoy the small shore community. We'd surely stay at this resort again.

Great resort
We got an excellent deal on groupon and went for our commemoration. It was gloomy season, the end of November, however we hit the tail end of it and had sunny days with gloomy nights. The suite we got was pleasant and steps away from the shore. There is no pressure of the water and no bathtub which was a little upsetting. The main swimming pool was pleasant however there is no hot tub. The personnel was pleasant and the meals were great. I'd stay away from the flapjacks and French toast. Being the sluggish time of the season the hospitality was not excellent. The bar did not open until 11 and our accomodations were only tidied one time and they never removed empty bottles. We had to ask to have the suite tidied. That being said the oceanfront is wonderful and the personnel are really courteous for the better part. I'd suggest the all-inclusive. Eight days was a little too Long. We had the shore all to ourselves and the resort is a short walk to the community in Samara.

Unwinding family get away with excellent lodging
If you are interested in a hotel with a tpc approved country club and an onsite Golf professional and beauty store this isn't the place for you. However if you are interested in a unwinding hotel with lots for a family to do in the Samara shore area, this is it. There is a wonderful spotless shore, a wonderful spotless pool, horseback riding, volleyball, football, zipline, deep sea diving, scuba diving, sea kayaks. The restaurant on the grounds are first class and there are multiple first class restaurants in Samara. There are no televisions or radios which for me was excellent. Excellent scuba diving right off the shore.

Excellent vacation to Costa Rica with my two ladies
Last September I agreed to take a vacation with my two ladies to Costa Rica, by a mile the greatest we have made. We had a great time at bungalows Playa Samara, where we stayed for 7 days. We enjoyed canopy, horseback riding and aquatic activities recommended and offered by the resort to the close by areas, they were excellent. The amenities and the nature were wonderful and the cuisine and service were great. The facilities are awesome and well suited for a family vacation. We'd surely suggest this place and hopefully return one day.

Excellent holiday
We purchased a 7 day groupon for this hotel. We stayed for 7 days at the end of July and just returned. We took our five year old son. The suites were spotless and the personnel was very courteous. The mattresses were really pleasant. We reserved trips through monkey trip right at the reception. We did the pedal boat vacation, zip line, and horseback riding. Everything was excellent and all the folks were really helpful. My son had an amazing time. The main swimming pool was spotless and fantastic. We could see the sea from the suite and it was a really quick walk to get to the shore. There are lizards and toads everywhere so that was clean for my son. And horses will walk near the ocean at random, which was kinda cool too. The cuisine. Is alright. Brunch was great. We loved it better when they had the cafeteria since the brunch waiter is pretty sluggish. We only ate supper at the hotel one night and it was alright, nothing to write home about. The pizza the resort makes was awesome. The barman poured excellent beverages. For the better part we went to community and purchased groceries since we had a kitchenette in the bungalow. Its really quite at the hotel however there are a lot of things to keep you occupied. There are no TV's and the wireless internet is spotty - however who wants that on holiday anyway? I went on holiday to get away from all that. We spent our days reading by the swimming pool, boogie boarding in the sea, zip lining through the rain forest, and sea kayaks in the sea. Awesome. I'd come back here another time for sure. We rented a vehicle and got around just okay. The roads aren't close to as terrible as some folks say. We paid the additional money for the gps navigation and it was totally worth it. If you fly into the Liberia airport its about a two hour Drive to get to the hotel. You can organize for transfers through the hotel however for just some more money we chose the rental vehicle and drove ourselves. It was pleasant to have the vehicle so we could go into community and Drive to some other shorelines.

A Costa Rica Gem
A seven day stay at this resort was part of a trip of Costa Rica, and all 16 trip members completely enjoyed the hotel. The personnel was excellent - Jose took care of us, jorge did an amazing job of serving at the bar, and stephen kept us laughing! We really liked it. No issue at all with any of the suites. Enjoyed having horses wandering around and seeing the lizards. The hotel sits right near the ocean and we contemplated the wonderful sunsets, nighly, right on schedule. It's a great shore walk into community with a lot of pelicans diving into the sea to entertain you. The hotel is on the smaller side, peaceful and calm, and the main swimming pool is a pristine temp. The repairs were still underway however we definitely weren't inconvenienced by it. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Amazing bungalow facing the sea!
We arrived here after dark and were taken to our bungalow. The bungalows are really pleasant, everything you need for preparing meals. The washroom was really big and tastefully embellished. The landscaping was properly maintained. The swimming pool and pool bar were amazing. The meals were awesome. There was some renovation going on, however nothing we could not Live with. The area is excellent. The folks were really courteous. A tiny language barrier sometimes. The so-called cabs were fascinating. Most were not marked at cabs and sounded like they May not get us from a to b. It cost $6 each way into community. Liked the hammock! We had a tiny bit of trouble with the heat as it was about 40 degrees hotter than where we're from and the humidity was overbearing. Expect for this if you are coming from a cooler environment.
